One of my first machines was that of Electrolysis, almost 20 years ago. Rather than the traditional DC approach, me and my buddy used AC current. DO NOT TRY AT HOME. Well, it worked great. I wouldn’t go back to the traditional nor DC for most applications, hydrogen included. There’s simply not enough resonance in that equation to overcome losses. Anyhow me and broski chose as our cathode and anode metal screws driven through PVC pipe to make a U-shape resting in the utility sink, little bit of table salt to catalyze. So we had hydrogen on the one side, oxygen on the other, and a bit of an electric shock hazard to connect so the sink was our “sterile field” during operation. The reaction was a violent production of both oxygen and hydrogen, if I recall, and the breakers did not trip.. An excellent renewable source of fuel, warmth, and clean water indeed, convertible easily enough to HHO or “Brown’s Gas” by simply combining our previously-isolated chambers. I even purchased that controversial blue book written by Eagle-Research at the time. Stoichiometry.
We stopped experiments (for a time) shortly after due to budget constraints, and because I wanted to have a better lab set up before proceeding.
Since then, I prefer aethereal sources of energy, vacuum and cold, recursion; but steam and hydrogen are still relevant.
