M.U.D.'s Are So Cool

When I was in about 7th grade, me and a friend programmed a M.U.D. (for some reason I remember them being called M.U.D.D.'s but I’m not finding much on that now) variant on our Ti-86 graphing calculators over lunch. It was a lot of fun. And when I was in about 1st grade, I played these things online. It’s all I wanted to do with my friends during that period. N, S, E, W, Up, Down. Simple yet endless possibilities, games which could be programmed by their users.

It occurs to me vectorizing will be able to do this even better, perhaps. You will notice the VR and AR worlds are attempting for some time to build something straight up tyrannical. We walk the razor’s edge in attempting to build out what we need without becoming also the tyrannical software. We walk the razor’s edge in attempting to assimilate something humanity needs and discarding the chains. We walk the razor’s edge..

Now then, it’s not going to be possible to just erase the VR dystopia. Rather, as with AI, we must offer a healthy alternative. That’s the logic, anyways. As AI is impossible to stop, per say, we develop local AI. An off-grid capable version akin to a robot which is Terminator reprogrammed for good. Similarly, VR and its derivatives is AR reprogrammed for good. A benevolent alternative to the malignant tumor, all. In theory. I realize and again, we walk the razor’s edge.

I used to LOVE playing M.U.D.'s. They were.. so cool. It occurred to me this old school tech can be applied to a kind of Akashic Record. But emerging from my work over here, it may be even more practical to direct load as vectors, I’m not sure yet. I suppose any given route could have the potential to yield different versions of the same thing..
