School Choice - Gifted & Talented Brain Drain; Charters Having Cake & Eating Them Too; The Mountain School Standardized Testing Anomaly in Spite; Buses are EXPENSIVE; More on Child Left Behind; MANY Children Don’t Eat (Must Less Pass Tests) Without Free School Lunch
When my dad worked the mountain schools, he made sure bad teachers sent his way were returned to sender or otherwise re-shuffled, in spite of tenure-esque entrenchments to the contrary. He was also up against - ‘The Gifted & Talented Brain Drain’, ‘Charters Having Cake & Eating Them Too’, ‘Buses being EXPENSIVE’, ‘Child Left Behind & The Mountain School Standardized Testing Anomalies’ - in spite of this.
My dad’s schools showed that it’s possible to fix schools which are, one way of another, left for dead. But it requires maintenance, and of course it would have been better not to have been left for dead, one way or another, in the first place. Looks like The Mountain Schools are back on the block, and the rural people of the mountain are the victims without a good old fashioned say-so or talkin’-to.
And it’s superficial, but the drive to Red Feather is breathtaking and famous in the motorcycle world. I loved riding up there anyways. All told, just goes to show,..
Quality > Quantity.
More to come, stay tuned.
